On October 14th, we discussed and analyzed in class the story "The Day I Got Lost" by Isaac Bashevis Singer. We worked in groups.

This presentation was interesting, because each group had different points of view in some aspects of the same story, but in others we were agree.

Some of my classmates shared their own experiences of their life when for one or other reason they forgot something special. Maybe all of us have a little of Shlemiel in ourselves.

Summary

Theme: The day when professor Shlemiel got lost.

Setting: Somewhere in New York City

Situation: Professor Shlemiel forgot where he lived, was his birthday party and he didn't know how to get back home. He Got Lost.

Resolution: When a friend went in a cab and saw professor Shlemiel and took him home.

In our group we connected the story with Home Alone, because was a story about a little boy who was alone in New York city during Christmas Eve, because his parents forgot him. Other groups connected with Dory because she forgets everything.
